John Workman

I was born in Bristol, TN and am a Tennessee Volunteer fan. I was raised in the Arrowhead section of Virginia Beach, I graduated from Kempsville HS and Virginia Wesleyan College with a LAMP degree.

I have been a State Farm Agent in Norfolk since 1988. My office has combined insurance experience of 75 years. As of 01/01/2026, I'm entering into my 38th year as a State Farm agent. I'm licensed to solicit insurance in the Old Dominion State of Virginia and the Tar Heel state of North Carolina. I really enjoy the relationships I have made with my policyholders, and it is a privilege to serve them. I am a second-generation State Farm Insurance Agent, my father CR "Tad" Workman was an agent for 35 years with State Farm. My office offers competitive quotes for CAR, Motorcycle, RV and ATV, Life Insurance, HOME, Personal Liability Umbrella Policies, Renters, Personal Articles (jewelry, furs, athletic equipment etc.), Apartment complexes, Condo unit owners, Rental condo unit owners, small business insurance and Contractors insurance for all the Hampton Roads area. We now can insure your pets! We welcome auto and renter's transfers and referrals are the greatest compliment we can receive. My office conducts insurance reviews. In addition, we offer a Notary Public Service.

My office is located 5 minutes from Ocean View and 10 minutes from downtown Norfolk. It sits between 7-11 and the I-64W on ramp. I have been at my current location for the last 25 years of a 38-year career.

I'm a resident of the Great Bridge/Hickory area of Chesapeake and my office has been located in Norfolk for 37 years. I have been married for 34 years to my awesome wife Michelle, we have 2 grown sons & 2 awesome granddaughters. In my free time I like to hunt, fish, golf and garden. I'm a past member & President of the Great Bridge Ruritan Club. I'm a member of the Great Bridge Master's Men singing group as well as Good Hope Church Choir.
